Den nye plæne:

Uge 1: Undgå at vande. Brug/ophold ikke på plænen – det gælder mennesker, hunde og maskiner.
Uge 2: Hvis det ikke har regnet siden såningen, kan vandingen påbegyndes. Jorden bør ikke gennemvædes, blot holdes fugtig i de øverste 5 cm. Undgå store dråber, da jorden ellers klasker sammen. Vand lidt ad gangen, gerne flere gange dagligt, det giver en mere ensartet spiring. Selv om du synes plænen er ved at blive grøn, er det vigtigt at vandingen fortsættes, da frøgræsblandingen ikke spirer på samme tid.
Uge 3: Vanding fortsættes, jorden holdes fugtig ikke våd. Er plænen ikke gødet i forbindelse med såning, skal det gøres nu. Brug en plæne gødning, gød efter instruktion på pakningen.
Uge 4 og frem: Græsset klippes første gang, når det er 5-7 cm. Højt. Klip kun græsset når det er tørt, for at undgå at afklippet klumper sammen. Brug altid en skarp plæneklipper, så græsstråene ikke bliver flosset.

Prydplæner:

Den bedst anlagte og vedligeholdte plæne, som er til pryd.

Plænen er helt jævn og ensartet. Den kræver klipning 2-3 gange om ugen, skal vandes, gødes og kalkes regelmæssigt i vækstsæsonen. Den kræver ligeledes vertikalskæring samt topdressning flere gange i sæson. Ukrudt fjernes så snart det kommer frem. Blade, afklip m.m. afrives.

Brugsplæner:

Den mest almindelige plæne som findes i de fleste danske haver, anvendes både visuelt og til aktivitet.

Den klippes ca. en gang om ugen, gødes og kalkes en til to gange i vækstsæsonen. Den bør vertikalskæres og topdresses en gang i sæson. Ved tørre perioder bør den vandes. Blade, afklip m.m. afrives. Ukrudt fjernes når det dækker større områder.

Plæneflader:

Plæneflader er store grønne græsarealer ved f.eks. industriejendomme.

Den klippes hver 10-12 dag og afklip vil kunne ses. På afstand vil plæneflader fremstå som grønne tæpper uden bare pletter og synligt stort ukrudt. Gødning og kalkning sker hvis græsset mistrives.

Fællesgræs:

Store græsarealer der fremstår som langt græs med en lille del vilde planter.

Klippes op til 3 gange i sæson. Afklip fjernes hvis det hæmmer væksten eller skæmmer udseendet.

Sportsplæner:

Plænen er helt jævn, tæt og ensartet. Den består af slidstærke græsarter.

Den klippes 1-2 gang om ugen i vækstsæsonen. Afrives for blade, afklip m.m. så snart det forekommer. Der vandes når græsset viser tegn på tørke. Der foretages ukrudtsbekæmpelse når der er mere end 10 procent pr. m2. Der bør vertikalskæres en gang om året.

Rabatgræs:

Græsdækkede områder langs stier og veje.

Har en stor bestand af vilde blomster og græsarter. Rabatten klippes 1-2 gang om året.

Naturgræs:

Ved naturgræs er der tale om store græsdækkede blomsterenge.

Det indeholder vilde urter og græs og området fremstår meget frodigt. Naturgræsset klippes en gang om året og uønskede vækster fjernes, det være sig bjørneklo, japansk pileurt etc. Ønskes der større blomstring afrives afklippet, men ønskes derimod mest græsvækst lader man afklippet ligge for af gøde jorden.
